Placement -

Local school district administrators must contact the director prior to any decision to place a student in the program.  A meeting will be held to determine the appropriateness of the placement in the Safe School Program.  Participants in the meeting should include the student, a parent or guardian, a local school district administrator or counselor, the Safe School director and any other person having a legitimate educational interest in the student.  If the placement is appropriate the program will be explained to the student and his/her parent or guardian and a starting date will be established.  The local district will provide the following information:

1.  student transcript

2.  student behavior record

3.  current physical exam and immunization records

4.  copy of birth certificate

5.  copy of free and reduced lunch application

6.  any other pertinent information about the student

Please call the Regional Office of Education if you would like to have more information about this program - 309-518-8029.

We offer an open invitation to local district staff members and administrators to visit the program and to maintain active involvement with students from that district.  We consider these students to still be a member of the student body of their local school who are attending another campus.
