Program Description:

Project Stay is an optional program serving K-12 with early assessment, intervention, and remediation of the factors creating the chronic truant* and dropout.  Caseworkers serving Fulton, Schuyler and Tazewell Counties work with chronic truants, their families, schools, and appropriate agencies to establish regular attendance, normal school behaviors, and academic success.  Spoon River Academy and ICC Academy Alternative School offer alternative education for potential dropouts and retrieved dropouts for grades 9-12.  The goal of Project Stay is to aid students and their families in re-establishing regular attendance, normal school habits, and academic success.

*A Chronic Truant is any student subject to compulsory school attendance who is absent without valid cause for 5% of the previous 180 school days.
